U.S. sues Idaho over abortion law, cites medical treatment The announcement is the first major action by the Justice Department challenging a state trigger law since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June. Michigan judge temporarily blocks prosecutors from enforcing 1931 abortion ban A judge granted Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's request for a temporary restraining order on the enforcement of a near-total abortion ban on the books since 1931. Near-total abortion bans reinstated in Kentucky In his ruling, Thompson said that although the constitutionality of the statutes has not yet been determined, "a statute carries with it the presumption of constitutionality" in Kentucky. What You Need to ReadHannah Daniel with Explainer: New wave of pro-family policies is an encouraging trend in the pro-life movement Though there is much to still be debated on which of these policies are best and which can find bipartisan support to become law, it is encouraging that many members of Congress are beginning to recognize a need for programs that support families and are beginning to think creatively on how best to do that. The ERLC will actively engage in these debates and advocate for policies that promote life, marriage, family, and the flourishing of all of our neighbors. Jenna Fleming with What school option will you choose for your child? In education, teachers use rubrics as scoring tools to measure student performance based on established criteria. Students are expected to meet certain goals in order to achieve mastery of a particular skill or standard. A score is given based on how the student met or failed to meet the expectations of the assignment. What if there was a rubric for families to use to gauge school options for their children? What standards would they use to measure those options? To design such a rubric, there are some essential questions parents should ask in order to guide their thinking. Elizabeth Warren recently made national news when she argued that the government should shut down women’s health organizations she labeled “deceptive.” “We need to shut them down here in Massachusetts and we need to shut them down all around the country,” Warren told reporters. “You should not be able to torture a pregnant person like that.” However, she was not referring to abortion clinics that exploit vulnerable women and take the lives of preborn children.
