Local local local
We love a startup funding story here at Technical.ly — especially one with local origins, local investors and thus, local impact.
Sicura, which makes an automated security platform for DevOps teams, announced today it closed an investment round for an undisclosed amount from a bevy of Baltimore and DC funders. That includes Squadra Ventures' Guy Filippelli, Inner Loop Capital's Justin Label, BlueWing Ventures' Richard Chilton and CoFactor Ventures' Bill Karpovich.
The Baltimore cybersecurity company spun out of Onyx Point, a government contracting biz from Hanover that focuses on IT infrastructure and security, in 2021. And there's yet another local tie: Investor Karpovich is also the CEO of Youreka Labs, which, alongside Sicura, is an honoree on Technical.ly's 2022 RealLIST Startups for Baltimore.
