Major Course Renovation News!
Vale Green Renovations We are extremely excited to announce a complete surface renovation on all 9 greens of the Vale Course. This process includes stripping the greens to an optimum base and recapturing surface area lost over the years. We will then add back new greens mix and seed the greens. Our course architect, Rick Robbins, will be on site working with Wadsworth Golf Construction. The new shape of the greens will add character and bring some of the bunkers back into play. Additionally, we will pick up many more hole locations which will help with the overall health of the greens. This is a major project and is scheduled to start on September 17. We will be closing the Vale nine this Sunday with the goal being to re-open by June 1 of 2019. Practice Facility Upgrade We are also excited to announce that work will be done to improve our current practice facilities. We will re-surface and nearly double the size of our current practice green. We will be leveling the green and adding some chipping areas around it. Additionally, we will be changing our mowing patterns on the lower range to make it feel like you are actually playing a golf hole. New turf will be added to some of the target greens on both the upper level and the lower level for actual course feel on shots. Finally, we will be using the lower section of the upper range tee and the three target greens as a short game area. These upgrades will give our Members a much better all-around practice facility. Maintenance We are hopeful you have already seen big improvements in the course conditions over the past few weeks. Timely rains and cooler temperatures have obviously been a big part of this, but improved maintenance practices that include mowing patterns, roping, reduced no-mow, hand-mowing, etc. are not only providing an immediate impact but setting us up for the future. While the optics have improved, we still need to get healthy below the turf. Stay tuned for additional information as our staff will be keeping you informed of scheduled maintenance. While at times it may seem an inconvenience, these practices are critical for the long term health of the Course. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at anytime.
