The inability of Gen Z-ers to see friends, participate in sports, and go out during Covid-19 led to an increased sense of loneliness and isolation. While adults have also experienced similar feelings, those in Gen Z are in a developmental period where friendships and socializing are essential to their identity. As post-Covid Gen Zers arrive on campus in the decade ahead, institutions need to evolve to provide them with the support they need to succeed academically and socially.
