9 a.m. — MPR News with Kerri Miller The U.S. unemployment rate is at a 50-year low. A CNBC/Survey Monkey poll found 85 percent of American workers are either somewhat or very satisfied with their jobs. And the majority say they are “more hopeful than fearful” about changes technology could introduce into the marketplace. But at the same time, almost 44 million workers say they have at least seven vacation days left to use this year, and the most common reason cited for not using those days is work guilt. And while income is moving upward, it’s moving slowly, and workers say other aspects of job quality are getting worse. What’s a smart employee to do? They were also joined by Cara Mearns-Thompson, a licensed independent clinical social worker and co-owner Grief Care Counseling, a center that focuses on grief in children, teens and adults.
