Lockdown restrictions across England could change drastically over the next couple of months, with the government considering a number of measures to open up the country.
View email online | | | | | Feb 15, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, For many of us, it feels like lockdown will never end. But it will, and when it does, we need to come out fighting. You don’t have to look far to see the economic devastation Covid-19 has brought with it. We need to be in position here in Lancashire to fight for a future - and we can only do that if we have parity through economic and social opportunity. In other words we need to stand up for ourselves in the north after Covid because no-one else will. The new report from the Centre for Policy Studies and Northern Research is probably not on your bedtime reading list - that’s what we are here for. But boiled down through lots of phrases and buzzwords like ‘level up’ and ‘big bang for the north’ is a genuine desire to ensure a future for our children and our grandchildren by making sure there is industry and jobs and importantly - that we achieve this in an environmentally - green - way so growth is not at the costs of all we hold dear in the beautiful north. We can’t just wait for change - we must enable it. Nicola Adam Deputy Editor | |
