NATIONAL: The National Events Council is looking for event professionals to fill out its diversity survey in order to produce its first diversity, equity and inclusion report. Stacey Abrams is the latest announced keynote speaker for the inaugural California Conference for Women, which will be hosted virtually March 4. The mission of the conference, the newest addition to a nationwide network of women's events, is to celebrate Women's History Month and empower women in the workplace and beyond. Other speakers will include Jane Goodall, Glennon Doyle and more. LOS ANGELES: The Chinatown Golden Dragon Parade will celebrate its 122nd anniversary despite having to pivot its celebrations to a virtual format. The celebration will take place Feb. 13 on Facebook Live with dance, music, storytelling and conversations about Chinese culture. MADISON, WIS: The University of Wisconsin, Madison’s Education School will host its third annual Black History Education Conference, “And How Are the Children? Black Education Matters,” from Feb. 19-20. The virtual conference will discuss promoting high levels of achievement for underserved students and include keynote speakers, group conversations and more. PHILADELPHIA: The Live! Casino & Hotel will officially open Feb. 11. The 510,000-square-foot property is both a hotel and a casino with more than 2,100 slot machines and electronic table games, 150 live-action table games and more. The hotel portion is a 12-story, 208-room building with a six-room Event Center that has 15,000 square feet of customizable meeting space.
