The stars they are a-changin'
The old adage don't lie: Change really is the only constant.
As stars struggle to remain relevant in the face of a rapidly evolving world, many are desperately trying to reinvent themselves — which for some means changing their careers, and for others, their hair.
Some are changing their entire identity. First there was Lady A, now the Dixie Chicks have rebranded themselves as The Chicks after the Black Lives Matter movement called for the removal of Confederate symbols and nostalgia. "We want to meet this moment,” the trio, which was formed in 1989, announced Thursday.
Some have cleaned up their act. Kendra Wilkinson has gone from "The Girls Next Door" to selling the house next door, as the reality star just passed the California real estate exam. Maybe she'll get dibs on the Playboy Mansion next time it hits the market.
Some have made amends, like Ne-Yo and his wife, Crystal Smith, who were headed for divorce back in February, but are back on. And some are revealing their comedic side, like Ja Rule, who filmed a hilarious ad for a struggling Greek restaurant all in the name of raising money for charity. Some are far less profound, like Emily Ratajkowski, who dyed her hair and quickly hit social media to document "day 1 as a blondie."
And frenemies Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, who are back on after Doute was spotted bringing a pregnant Schroeder birthday flowers weeks after they were both axed from "Vanderpump Rules." Keep your friends close and your recently fired former co-stars closer, I guess.
All this to say, there's always room to grow. Let's toast to that.
Drinking of you fondly,
Maggie |
