Wealth defence: Armor offers downside protection against falling equities… Another busy week in ETFs sees an interview with ARMR ETF, designed to offer downside protection in falling equity markets. The index is the brainchild of ETF industry veteran Jim Colquitt, who spent close to 20 years with Invesco in a variety of senior positions, and is offered from the Exchange Traded Concepts’ stable. Colquitt wins the prize for prescience as defensive looks like a clever stance in this week’s difficult markets. We also have an interview with Solactive on its investment into research company right. What was right about right. we ask (inevitably)? There is also a profile of Qontigo which comes from a place of pedigree, formed as it was by the merger of STOXX, DAX and Axioma under the Deutsche Börse’s umbrella. Hamish Seegopaul, Managing Director of Quantitative and Multi-Asset Solutions explains that the driving force in the creation of Qontigo was to bring together an indexing company, STOXX, and an analytics company, Axioma, to provide a platform from which to deliver investment intelligence to investors. Finally, let me take you to the landing page for ETF Express’s first event, etfLIVE, which we are hosting on 20 May at the Old Brewery in London.
