| ETFs enjoy growth everywhere Little acorns lead to large oaks, and the figures are coming in for the end of last year’s ETF performance and in terms of assets, the sector has had another extraordinary year. This week’s newsletter looks at Europe alone, as detailed by Morningstar, which found record breaking levels of asset flows, particularly into ESG and thematics. Another growth story comes from a survey from JP Morgan Asset Management, its Shanghai-based joint venture, China International Fund Management, and investment platform Snowball Finance, into the appetite for ETFs from investors in China. There is a small but growing market of China-based ETFs and a huge hungry audience of investors who want to use them, the report finds. We also took time to talk to Laura Morrison, Global Head of Listings at Cboe, who explains that there has been a 1,400 per cent growth in the exchange’s listing business since 2015. The growth puts the exchange as the second largest primary listing exchange in the US. Also enjoying a growth path is Global X ETFs Europe, and we have news of its rapidly expanded new team, and, just before Christmas, the launch of its first products in Europe. This is the last week for voting in the ETF Express European Awards. The firms with the most votes win so take this opportunity to cast your votes now. Do remember that to receive this newsletter on a weekly basis, you have to register with us. It’s free and ensures that you keep up to date with all that ETF Express has to offer. Look for the registration button on the home page. Finally, we are very pleased to bring you our new Spotlight Series of virtual events focused on themes key to our audience. We open with an afternoon on physical and digital assets. To find out more on the first event and on the rest planned for 2020, please click here.
