Western Australian Premier, Colin Barrett announced yesterday he would assume responsibility for the Tourism portfolio from 31 March 2016. Entries for the NSW Tourism Awards are now open to tourism products and businesses who provide outstanding service and experiences to guests in NSW. Tropical North Queensland will host the Best of Queensland Workshop in Sydney on 21 June 2016. Tourism WA will hold their annual International and Marketing Forum in Scarborough on Thursday 7 April 2016. The South Australian Tourism Industry Council has named Shaun de Bruyn as General Manager. The Northern Territory Government's inaugural 'Backpack the Outback' Roadshow kicks off in Melbourne this week in a bid to boost backpacker numbers to the NT. The NT Government's new $5 million Accelerator Round of the Tourism Infrastructure Development Fund closes on Wednesday 13 April 2016. Northern Territory tourism operators and businesses active in the events and conference market are encourage to use the Northern Territory Convention Bureau's new brand Think Unconventionally. The second edition of Tourism NT's Industry Marketing Calendar for 2016 is now available to download.
