Here’s why the church must lead the way on AI… No Images? Click here Dear friend, This morning, the ERLC brought together leaders and experts from dozens of fields to release a groundbreaking statement of evangelical principles on artificial intelligence. There are many heated debates in Washington, many of them important. But no issues keep me awake at night like those surrounding technology and artificial intelligence. The implications artificial intelligence will have for our future are vast, and it is critical that the church be proactive in understanding AI. It's also critical that the church insists AI be used in ways consistent with the truth that all people possess dignity and worth, created as they are in the image of God. That is why our team has worked tirelessly to put together this statement, which I hope will serve as a guidepost for the church as we continue further into the digital age. ”This statement of principles is not fearful but full of hope, engaging this new age of history, the age of AI, with wisdom because we know the author of truth. This document is grounded in Matthew 22:37-39, to love God and to love your neighbor as yourself.” — Jason Thacker At our event in Washington, D.C. this morning, I joined my colleague Jason Thacker and other experts to share why this statement is so important. I'm thankful for all those who took this proactive step to help us think critically about the advances of AI and the timeless truth of human dignity.
