Good evening

It’s funny how life always seems that little bit better when the sun is shining.

And after being locked inside for the best part of three months, it’s good to feel the sun on our faces.

So you can understand why so many people have been heading out to local parks and beaches to enjoy the warmer weather in beautiful surroundings.

Our photographers have been out taking pictures and for the most part the people of Preston look like they are following the rules of social distancing while making the most of their new freedoms.

But with the Easter weekend coming up, it is worth a reminder to us all that we should continue to take precautions even as we meet up with family and friends. It’s been a longer and harder winter than most of us can remember, so let’s not wreck all the hard work in the space of a few days.

We can travel now - but if we all go to the same local beauty spots, they will be packed and we run the risk of spreading infection. So, enjoy your Easter break, see those friends and family, but stick to the rules ... otherwise we might be waiting a very long time for a haircut.

Until next time, stay safe,

Gillian
