End of the line for head of the city bus system?

with Kelly P. Kissel | Metro editor

It's not looking good for the head of the city bus system. As Paul Cobler reports, the CATS board has called a special meeting for this afternoon and put only two items on the agenda. The first is to fire Bill Deville. The second is to name an interim replacement.

We'll be at the meeting, but in the meantime you can read all the background here.

Our criminal justice reporters had a couple of dynamite stories during the weekend. ICYMT (in case you missed them), check out James Finn's story on the impact of gun violence on parts of Baton Rouge and Elyse Carmosino's story on Hell Week trouble involving an LSU fraternity.

And Charles Lussier today takes a look at the high absentee rate at a number of schools in the East Baton Rouge school system. Some schools are missing more than a quarter of the students who are signed up for classes.

More links to today's top stories are below, and if you'd like to see what was in this morning's paper, you can find the "e-edition" at this link.
