Did you hear, Voornaam? Republicans are actively fighting against Measure 113, which disqualifies legislators with 10 or more absences from running for reelection in the following term. Oregonians overwhelmingly supported this measure, but it comes as no surprise that Republicans are ignoring the will of the people - it's what they do. FIRST: Republicans walked away from their jobs during session in attempt to sabotage the state legislature and force their unpopular agenda onto Oregonians. THEN: They filed to run for reelection despite overwhelming support for Measure 113, which they know disqualifies them from running. NOW: We have to work to elect Democrats to the newly-opened seats, including in Republican Leader Tim Knopp's district, where a Democrat has already declared candidacy. They're attempting to subvert the will of the people again and are fighting Measure 113 in court, but we believe we have an opportunity to increase our majority in the legislature and fight back against Republican sabotage. But we need the resources to ensure big wins next year, Voornaam. So ahead of today's end-of-quarter fundraising deadline, can you chip in $5, $10, $50, or $100 to the Democratic Party of Oregon? |
