City council is questioning the mayor on his 'no-knock' warrants policy
| Feb. 7, 2022 A Duluth sixth grader was temporarily barred from taking part in a YMCA swim meet over the weekend because she wore a swimsuit with the phrase “Black Lives Matter” on it. Duluth NAACP President Classie Dudley and other supporters came to the swim meet to demand Lyons be allowed to participate. Leaders from the Duluth YMCA overruled the volunteer official’s decision, asked them to leave and made sure Lyons was allowed to compete.
