I’m baaaaaaack! Aloha dear readers! I have returned from my vacation and am so glad to be here again with you. I had a terrific time hanging out with my family, eating my favorite Hawaiian treats (the lilikoi malasadas at Punalu’u Bake Shop -- wow!), shopping in downtown Hilo and exploring Kilauea. On the second morning of our time in Kilauea, I woke up early to catch the sunrise over Halema’uma’u crater. The rest of my family was sound asleep, so I jumped into my rented Pathfinder and headed to the crater lookout nearby. Since it was so early, I had the lookout to myself. I read my daily Bible passage while I waited for the sun to climb over the crater rim. It was so still. After I finished my reading, I just stood there quietly, taking in the incredible scenery around me -- the deep, wide expanse of the crater, her walls etched with the marks of history; the lehua blossoms sparkling like rubies across the landscape; and the clouds resting atop the mountain peaks, like heaven touching earth. It was spectacular. Today’s Health and Wellness story reminds me of that morning at Volcano. I was awestruck by the raw beauty of nature. Moments like these are good for us. They jolt us out of our norm, slough away weariness and fill us with new energy. They ignite curiosity and creativity. And we’re better for it. How can I serve you better with this brief? Let me know! And if you enjoy this brief, tell others so they can benefit also.
