GLOBAL: The third annual Global Legal Forum Conference returns to The Hague Marriott in the Netherlands Dec. 1-2 following a two-year hiatus. The event is expecting 200-plus delegates from around the world to gather to discuss legal technology, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI) meditation, and emerging practices of law. Guests can expect keynote speakers as well as debates and proposed resolutions involving worldwide players in the tech and law sectors. The Global Legal Forum Conference is being hosted in partnership with The Hague Convention Bureau (THCB), which specializes in comprehensive and custom event support thanks to a large network of local partners.
NATIONAL: Hospitality leader Sodexo Live! has announced the launch of its new People Ambition initiative, which aims to attract, retain, and grow its ranks of hospitality providers. The move comes after Soxedo Live! gathered data from more than 50 surveys over the course of the past year of current employees across all roles, and will focus on increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment, development, and management. The People Ambition initiative also puts a focus on career development as well as training and mentorship opportunities within the company. American Express and TikTok have partnered to launch the #ShopSmall Accelerator program, which aims to help small business owners reach a new generation of shoppers on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday shopping season. The program kicked off on Nov. 14 and provides small business owners with tools and resources to think like TikTok creators (AmEx has tapped famed creators Anna Sitar and Sofia Bella), plus a “Shop Small Soundtrack” to use on videos, and the chance to earn a $100 advertising credit on the platform. PALM BEACH, FLA.: Lifestyle destination The Royal Poinciana Plaza and WS Development have announced a holiday partnership with fashion icon, interior designer, and businesswoman Iris Apfel, who will design the property’s Christmas tree this season. Guests can expect the tree to be inspired by Apfel’s personal style, with bright colors, over-the-top embellishments, and a nod to the mogul’s glasses. The tree will be unveiled on Dec. 1 and will remain on display throughout the holidays.
SAN FRANCISCO: Convene—a hospitality company that designs, builds, and manages meeting, event, and flexible office spaces—is expanding with a 65,000-square-foot outpost at the 100 Stockton St. redevelopment. The space will occupy the fourth and fifth floors of the building and marks Convene’s entry into the San Francisco market, adding to a portfolio of 26 across the U.S. and U.K. The new space is scheduled to open in the latter half of 2023.
