| Most of my paintings are inspired by nature - its beauty and simplicity. I enjoy the editing and thought processes that go into creating a composition - the studying, planning, sketching and designing involved. This includes creating an intricate balance of light and dark values in the painting. I also love experimenting with different color palettes. For the past year, I have been using oil paint as my main medium which has been an exciting transition from my previous use of mostly water-based paints (acrylics and watercolors). What I love about painting is the strong sense of fulfillment that comes with delving into the creative process - the continuous learning and growing as an artist keeps me coming back to the easel. |
