There is much comfort to be found in the kitchen during the colder, rainier months. This week, our contributing chef Elizabeth Hewson brings us some highlights from her autumn-winter kitchen. For a flavoursome dinner with soul, try Elizabeth's lovely chicken meatballs in broth, a dish she recommends to eat on the couch. This is a simple, delicious dinner option that can become a staple in your house. Also delicious is her chocolate bundt cake which has a dash of coffee for extra flavour. Lovely cooking for these cold rainy days. Curries are a big hit in winter too. Mehak Kansal offers the sort of unpretentious cookery that I love. She describes her food as "Indian with a global soul", meaning she pinches a few flavours and tricks from other cultures when the need arises. Her Goan chicken and prawn satay curry will be a regular in our house, and her two lamb curries offer a great incentive to get to the stove too. Happy cooking. |
