By Bob Warren Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn, who is in a tough re-election battle against Police Chief Michael Glaser, summoned the media this morning to lob some accusations of “extortion” and “election rigging” ahead of the city's March 26 elections. Zahn played snippets of recorded conversations to the media and others gathered at Kenner's temporary city hall at the Esplanade mall, saying they prove his point. Faimon Roberts has the details. Crime talk: Another day, another crime summit. This morning, NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson and DA Jason Williams were holding forth during a joint appearance, where they pledged to revive a multi-agency gang unit. This morning’s news conference follows a series of news conferences on crime in recent days. It also came as police reported another fatal shooting on I-10 late Wednesday night. Toxic: Residents of the Gordon Plaza subdivision in New Orleans have been asking for years for the city to move them from homes that we built atop a former landfill.
