| All comments submitted to the PFAS restriction proposal now online We have now published all 5 642 contributions received from the public to the proposal to restrict per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the EEA. They are compiled in 123 Word files that can be accessed through an index spreadsheet providing an overview of the feedback. We do not publish information that has been marked as confidential by the consultee.
The proposal, submitted to ECHA in January 2023, was prepared by five European countries. It is currently being evaluated by our scientific committees for Risk Assessment and for Socio-Economic Analysis. Read more on our topical page for PFAS. Read more |

New proposal to harmonise classification and labelling One intention has been received for: beflubutamid (ISO); N-benzyl-2-[4-fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy]butanamide; (RS)-N-benzyl-2-(α,α,α,4-tetrafluoro-m-tolyoxy)butyramide (EC 601-267-1, CAS 113614-08-7).Targeted consultations on harmonised classification and labelling On the request of the European Commission, we are looking for comments on harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) of: lithium carbonate (EC 209-062-5),lithium chloride (EC 231-212-3) and lithium hydroxide (EC 215-183-4). Comments are requested on a new study (Boyle et al. 2017) and on relevant data related to cardiac foetal malformations compared to the information considered in the opinion of the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) from 16 September 2021; and
methyl methacrylate; methyl 2-methylprop-2-enoate; methyl 2-methylpropenoate (EC 201-297-1). Comments are requested on whether, based on the new information from the manufacturers of the substance, the current RAC opinion on the classification for respiratory sensitisation of this substance should be revised.Have your say until 21 November 2023.
In addition, we are looking for comments on the proposal to harmonise classification and labelling of: N-1,3-dimethylbutyl-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine (212-344-0).
During the consultation, that ended on 1 September 2023, Austria provided information on an acute toxicity study of 6PPD-Quinone in two salmon species. Have your say on this additional information until 14 November 2023. |

New IUCLID release published This release contains new features, improvements and fixes. There are no changes to the data format, making it fully compatible with the previous version released in May. Users of ECHA Cloud Services will see their IUCLID instances upgraded automatically.

The occupational exposure assessment tool ECETOC TRA updated If you have estimated the occupational exposures in your REACH registration by using the previous versions of the ECETOC Targeted Risk Assessment (TRA) workers tool, check if your assessment is impacted by its latest changes and needs updating.
Chesar 3 does not automatically provide the new exposure estimates of the updated tool. They will be included in the new Chesar Platform, planned to be released in 2024. QSAR Toolbox tutorials available You can now find a playlist with 16 tutorials for the OECD QSAR Toolbox version 4.6. on our YouTube channel. These tutorials are designed to help users navigate through both simple and more advanced functionalities of the tools.
This first set of tutorials was developed to respond to stakeholders' interest in learning to use the tool better. We plan to develop more tutorials during the next year and look forward to hearing your feedback. Send us your needs and ideas to [email protected]. |

Interactive game about carcinogens in the workplace The Belgian Federal Public Service Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue has launched an interactive game to teach students how to handle carcinogens in the workplace. The game is available in English, Dutch and French. It has been developed as part of the voluntary action scheme Roadmap on Carcinogens that ECHA supports. |
