More of today's top headlines inside
with Kelly P. Kissel | Metro editorWe appreciate your starting your week with us. Here's a look at our top headlines: SCHOOLS: East Baton Rouge public high school students might one day be required to take college-level classes. Superintendent Sito Narcisse sees the concurrent enrollment as a way to boost the number of young people who seek post-secondary degrees. Charles Lussier takes a look at the plan here. BRIDGE: The Interstate 10 bridge over the Calcasieu River, certainly the scariest bridge one must cross when taking I-10 between Baton Rouge and Houston, may soon be a thing of the past. Two presidents have spoken of replacing the span, which has no shoulders. A new one might even have a walkway. Mike Smith reports from Lake Charles on the bridge, which is actually order than the federal interstate highway system. BALL: The LSU basketball team is climbing in the polls. The new AP poll out this morning has the Tigers at No. 19. Thanks for joining us. |
