Exchange leaders warn that the sharp decline in IPOs and public listings threatens the future of public markets, raising concerns about reduced access to capital for companies, reports the Financial Times. Read more

Simply Competitive: banks urge EU to cut complexity and support competitiveness & growth 

The European Banking Federation (EBF) calls on EU policymakers to make simplification a core strategic priority also in financial services. In a new report released today, Europe’s banking sector warns that regulatory complexity is undermining the EU’s competitiveness and slowing the financial sector’s ability to support households, companies and key investments urgently needed by Europe. EBF shares recommendations for a stronger European financial literacy strategy

The European Banking Federation (EBF) celebrates the European Commission’s initiative to establish the European Financial Literacy Strategy and has put forward eight recommendations to help enhance its effectiveness and long-term impact. For more than a decade, EBF and its members have actively supported financial education through a broad range of initiatives across Europe. Read more


EBF calls for coordination among authorities towards a fully integrated reporting system in Europe

On the 15th of July, the EBF called for authorities to increase coordination across their respective initiatives in order to streamline the reporting burden for banks. The EBF has been working closely with authorities to support both individual and collective efforts. However, it stressed that further coordination among authorities is essential, especially as authorities aim to simplify the reporting burden for banks. Read more
