The Banker: ECB pushes back against delays to Basel implementation

The European Central Bank warned against delaying the final part of Basel III for EU lenders, stressing it offers “a good basis for sound risk management” despite similar delays in the US and UK, reports The Banker. Read more


Risk.net: BNP Paribas’s CVA risk charges swell 56% on Basel III overhaul

BNP Paribas’s CVA capital requirements jumped 56.2% in Q1 under Basel III, the largest rise for a G-Sib. CVA RWAs hit €6.4 billion, up €2.3 billion since December and the highest since Q4 2022, writes Risk.net. Read more


Euronews: Bulgaria's president to submit request to parliament to call eurozone referendum

According to Euronews, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will ask parliament to hold a referendum on adopting the euro, calling it a key test of democracy and Bulgaria’s EU future. Read more

Finance Latvia: FNA: More people are choosing to save money for a longer period; the volume of bank-issued loans is increasing
