Next week, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will gather in Brussels for Committee Meetings. Many interesting votes and debates are scheduled to take place. On Wednesday 4 March, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) responsible for the regulation of financial services, the free movement of capital and payments, taxation and competition policies, during an extraordinary meeting will express opinion and policy guidance on the Annual Sustainable Growth Strategy 2020, presented by the European Commission in December 2019, which sets out the general economic priorities for the EU and offers EU governments policy guidance for the year. ECB-Commission joint conference on European financial integration |
|
Each year, the European Commission and the European Central Bank (ECB) organise a joint high-level conference on European financial integration. The 2020 conference will take place in the ECB Building in Frankfurt on Tuesday 3 March. This year, the ECB will publish its new bi-annual report Financial integration and structure in the euro area and the Commission will release its European Financial Stability and Integration Review 2020. At a time when high-level policy discussions have started about how the European Capital Markets Union project can be developed further, this highly topical event will feature a series of contributions to this debate and what CMU means for people and companies. The conference is an important meeting place for a high-level exchange of views on current themes that matter for financial integration and stability in Europe. It brings together a unique mix of institutional knowledge, industry expertise and academic insights. Agenda |
