This week is very busy for our EAT team in Ukraine: our corn crop tour has started on Monday. We have already assessed the corn crop potential in Chernihiv (first day), Sumy, and Poltava oblast (second day). Today we are observing crop conditions in Cherkasy oblast. In every region, we choose random fields to do our countings with minimum of 8 samples in each oblast. We compare our results with the feedback of local operators and their opinion in regard to the 5-year average. This methodology allowed us to be accurate in our estimates last year and the years before.

We will finish our crop tour on Friday heading through the western and central parts of the country. Next week the final report will be issued with Ukrainian corn production 2020 estimates.
