Could you briefly introduce the European Agritel Tour program?
The European Agritel Tour has been created in 2015 in order to follow the evolution of wheat crops in Europe. We follow up the campaign from sowing until harvest. The result is an accurate analysis and outlook on regional levels. EAT is covering Ukraine, Romania, Germany and from 2018, RUSSIA to find out more about yield potential of wheat crops.
Why did you add Russia in your EAT program?
Russia is the price maker of the world wheat prices. It has not reached its full production potential yet. The export potential is huge, EAT will give us the possibility to better assess this dynamic. Moreover, the EAT Crop Tour estimated the final wheat yield with 95 % accuracy over the last two years in Romania and Ukraine, one month before the harvest. In 2017, Russia's wheat production has been well underestimated by operators, this is why we have to go to the fields!
What do you provide to your clients?
The tour is made up of two parts: a written follow-up in three reports for each country throughout the growing cycle and a physical crop tour, one month before the harvest. The main goal is to provide a yield and production estimation to our clients. Moreover, the crop tour is a good way to learn about the agricultural picture of the country you are visiting. It is also an opportunity to know better agronomics practices and crop cycles.
Who can come to the crop tour with you?
Farmers, market analysts or industrial operators, we already travelled with more than 15 clients during crop tours, coming from Germany, Ukraine, China, France, Netherlands…They were very satisfied with the organization and to have learned so much. We can speak French, English, German, Ukrainian and Russian, facilitating the exchanges with operators in the fields in all countries.
