Darlene Cavalier has become a leading national booster for the idea that the general public can and should be a part of the scientific process by collecting data for researchers around the world. It’s a fitting role for the former college cheerleader who launched Science Cheerleaders, a nonprofit organization consisting of current and former NFL, NBA and college cheerleaders pursuing careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

A new Fordham University poll puts the racial divide on coronavirus into sharp relief.

As the numbers roll in, it's becoming increasingly clear the disproportionate impact that COVID-19 has had on African Americans. A full 23 percent of Black Americans report having known someone personally who died as a result of the virus, compared with only 13 percent of Latinx and 6 percent of white Americans.
