| Telesat [TSAT] - Last Close: $8.45 Telesat is moving higher after an earnings release. The satellite company published its Q2 results and announced a massive new production deal early this morning. Telesat's Q2 EPS of $7.49 per share marked a 5,860% increase from a the year-earlier quarter's $(0.13) per share loss. However, revenues of $133.81 million marked an 8.5% decrease from last year. Telesat also announced a C$2.1 billion deal with MDA to build 198 satellites for its advanced Lightspeed low-Earth orbit satellite constellation. TSAT is one of the premarket's top stocks with a 48.7% gain. My Take: TSAT's EPS figure is incredibly impressive. This company is demonstrating that it knows how to make money. It's on my watchlist. Eton Pharmaceuticals [ETON] - Last Close: $2.60 Eton Pharma is also gaining after an earnings release. The specialty pharma firm released its quarterly report late Thursday, and the results surpassed analysts' expectations. Eton Pharma reported a surprise profit of $0.18 per share, topping the consensus of a $(0.09) loss by 300% and improving on last year's $(0.06) per share Q2 loss. Revenues grew 63.0% YoY to $12.0 million for the quarter, topping the consensus of $6.51 million by 84.2%. The double-line beat boosted ETON to a 31.9% gain in today's premarket. My Take: HC Wainwright lowered its price target on the stock in response to the report. However, ETON could have upside potential when its downtrend bottoms out. M-Tron Industries [MPTI] - Last Close: $11.30 Earnings seems to be the main focus today, as M-Tron is also getting a boost. The high-tech electronics company released its Q2 results after Thursday's close, and its numbers improved dramatically from last year. M-Tron's Q2 EPS of $0.47 marked a 161% increase compared to a year earlier, and its sales jumped 42% to $10.1 million for the quarter. Consensus estimates were not available for the tiny micro-cap stock. The company also announced its participation in the upcoming Sidoti August 2023 Virtual Investor Conference. MPTI is one of the morning's top performers with a 27.0% gain. My Take: MPTI is showing strong support at the $11 mark, and its P/E is a reasonable 17.61. I don't know enough about this stock's business model, but the technicals look decent. Innodata [INOD] - Last Close: $10.71 Let's round out this morning's watchlist with yet another earnings rally. Innodata published its Q2 financial report Thursday evening, and the results were significantly better than the previous year. The data engineering company's operating loss thinned by 78.5% to just $(0.03) per share, compared to $(0.14) per share a year earlier. Its quarterly sales fell by 1.6% compared to last year and registered at $19.66 million for the quarter. INOD is up 25.8% in the wake of its earnings release. My Take: INOD has been locked in a somewhat wide trading range since early June, but today's rally could help it break out, if it can hold onto its gains.
