Important notice

Learn about the parking lot expansion / renovation and road work at Grandview's Oshawa site, and how it will affect you.

On October 8, 2015, the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade announced its 2015 Business Excellence Award recipients.
A new Not-for-Profit/Charity category was added to recognize unique contributions to the community, and Grandview Children's Centre was selected as the 2015 Award Recipient in this category!
We are deeply grateful for this honour, and acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our every member of our staff for their contributions toward achieving it. Congratulations, team!


Online registration for Grandview's Winter 2015 Therapeutic Recreation activities for children and youth with special needs opens Sunday, November 15!
Beginning Monday, November 9, you will be able to view an online list of all the Winter 2015 activities. 
Note: Parents are encouraged to update info on their child's online Participant Profile at any time.

Grandview’s 2015-2016
volunteer Family Advisory Committee
View the list of FAC members. The FAC acts as a resource to the Board and to the Executive Director, and provides an opportunity for families to have input into strategic decisions that affect families, clients and/or potential clients of Grandview Children's Centre. The FAC also hosts networking and social events for families of Grandview Kids.

Sign-out books for free for a 3-week period. View an online list of all our resources.

Look for the Partners for Planning Resource Network symbol at grandviewkids.ca to access online resources, including webinars, to help you plan your child's future.

If your child is currently receiving services at Grandview, you are eligible to join our closed, members-only Facebook Group, Grandview OPS (Online Parent Support), moderated by our Family Facilitator Andrea Belanger.
Go to facebook.com/groups/Grandview.OPS and choose "Join Group" near the top right-hand corner. 
Andrea will verify that your child is a Grandview Kid before adding you to the group.

Your Family's Role
in Health & Safety

After evacuating during fire drills, parents/caregivers and clients are asked to remain on the property at Grandview Children's Centre until the drill is complete.
To ensure everyone's safety in the parking lot during the drill, please do not exit in your vehicle until all staff and clients and have returned to the building.

Have you thought about how your child with special needs would survive a fire emergency?
Grandview Children's Centre has partnered with the Clarington Fire Department and the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management to bring the new THINK AHEAD fire safety program to families of Grandview Kids in Clarington.
Benefits of THINK AHEAD:
learn fire prevention and safety tips from firefighters
share information about your child with special needs to be stored in a database that first responders can access when en route to an emergency in your home
help your child become familiar with first responders so they'll recognize them as helpers in an emergency

What is Our Grandview?
"Our Grandview" is a parent-driven advocacy campaign to encourage government leaders to approve capital development funding for a new facility for Grandview Children's Centre. This campaign is organized by Grandview's Family Task Force, a subcommittee of Grandview's Family Advisory Council. Learn more

Improving customer service for families of Grandview Kids

A new automated system for appointment reminder calls has been implemented to improve efficiency and reduce the number of missed appointments.
In addition, our secure email system - used only for the transfer of confidential documents and private client information - is being upgraded. Users will be required to register with the new service by entering their email address and creating a password. The improved system will work with a variety of web browsers, including Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer. Please note: previous correspondence sent via secure email will not be available on the new secure email system.
