Hey there dust collection folks, At the last seminar, we learned about dust hazards, flame balls, and things that go boom. We also learned about NFPA, the codes the inspectors are now enforcing, and about the safety devices. And we learned about different types of dust collectors. Armed with new knowledge, you went out and got a project. Or, you are putting one into your facility. Congrats and good for you!
You have your dust collection project, got it. Maybe you selected an Imperial Collector. So far, so good. And maybe you know what safety devices are required to go with code. Now, put them on the plan. Easy, right? Did you remember the sprinkler pipe? How much straight duct was required again? Why do we need straight duct again? Is the abort gate driven by a single or two sensors? And, how does that work again? Is the dirty air hitting the inlet or discharge of the collector? It’s hard can’t tell from the picture! Is there compressed air? Wait a minute, there’s 3-phase out here. What is powering the freeze protection and control panel? How much does that abort gate weigh?
