U.S. charges two brothers in $25 million crypto heist |
Federal prosecutor Damian Williams described the alleged scheme as 'novel' and said it had 'never before been charged' |
Two brothers who had studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have been indicted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for allegedly manipulating the Ethereum blockchain to steal $25 million in cryptocurrency, CNBC reported. The alleged heist by Anton Peraire-Bueno, 24, and James Peraire-Bueno, 28, took a mere 12 seconds to carry out, the DOJ said. The two men, whose father works as a professor of aeronautics and astronautics at MIT, have been arrested on charges of wire fraud and money laundering. Apple's incoming Eye Tracking feature is designed primarily for those with physical disabilities, though others may also find it useful |
Apple has unveiled new accessibility features that will arrive later this year for iPhone and iPad owners, Digital Trends reported. The standout feature is the ability to interact with iOS and iPadOS interfaces using eye movement. The new Eye Tracking feature will work using the front camera on the iPhone and iPad and let users navigate through the elements of an app and access additional functions such as physical buttons, swipes, and other gestures solely through their gaze. For example, you can highlight a button by looking at it, and then select it by keeping your sight fixed on it for several seconds ... |

Netflix's ad tier reaches 40 million users
|
Streaming services have been prioritizing ad-supported tiers as they tend to bring in more revenue per user than ad-free plans |
Netflix’s ad-supported tier, which launched in 2022, is proving a big hit with subscribers, Quartz reported. The streaming giant revealed on Wednesday that its ad tier has grown to 40 million monthly users globally, which is a significant chunk of its 270 million members. It took the ad plan six months to reach 5 million users before growing to 23 million in January. Netflix also revealed that more than 40% of new users are signing up for the ad-supported tier in locations where it’s available. Netflix's “standard with ads” tier costs $7 a month, while the most affordable ad-free option costs more than double at $15.50 a month ... |

3 Body Problem picked up for new episodes |
They'll be created, executive produced, and written by the returning trio of David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo |
Netflix has announced it’s renewed 3 Body Problem, though it interestingly didn’t refer to the extension as a “season 2,” Deadline reported. Instead, it seems that Netflix has ordered additional episodes of the popular sci-fi drama rather than a whole new season. We’ll only know for sure when the number of seasons and episodes are revealed at a later date. “We’re thrilled that we get to tell this story through to its epic conclusion," the show's creators said in a joint message. "Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we hoped we’d be able to bring the audience to the end of the universe with us. Here we go!” |
