| | Times Past A survey on Canberra's sex industry was being conducted in 1987 and The Canberra Times was reporting on some of the results on this day. The ACT AIDS Action Council reported that some massage parlour managers were putting sex workers lives at risk because of ignorance. The president of the council, Mr Jim Arachne, said some parlour managers believed their workers could "pick" people with AIDS simply by looking at them.
