Another, uh, adventure: If you haven’t met Jim Lamarque, please let this story from Sara Pagones be your introduction. Lamarque, 75, of Slidell, was recently pulled from Lake Borgne after clinging to a capsized boat in choppy seas for several hours along with his 16-year-old dog, Jake, and a charter fishing client. And it was hardly Lamarque's first brush with calamity. Dramatic, sure, but still a loss: We’re all still smarting from that Saints game yesterday. The venue was much different -- London -- but the M.O. was much the same: Fall behind, mount a furious last-ditch comeback, fall short in dramatic fashion and send Who Dat Nation into another week-long funk. Here’s some fodder for your Monday morning quarterbacking. And of course, be sure to check out our Saints coverage throughout the day. Prison time for HIV: Some of Louisiana's HIV laws, a throwback to the 1980s, are in the news today. Changes in medicine have made HIV treatable. But the state's laws can still mean prison sentences, Emily Woodruff writes. Delicious dishes: The National Fried Chicken Festival has named its best dishes from the weekend. Curious? Annette Sisco has the wrapup here. Hungry? Here's more fried chicken coverage. Thanks for reading Lunch Line today – and remember, you can keep up all day long at NOLA.com. Bob |
