Dow drops 650 points as S&P 500, Nasdaq post worst day since September

U.S. stocks ended the session sharply lower as volatility spiked on rising COVID-19 cases. The Dow lost 650 points but clawed back from a deficit of 950. The S&P dipped 1.8% while the Nasdaq lost 1.6%
