Getting the Care You Need |

UPMC continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19 in our communities, and we remain vigilant in preparing for a surge of cases, should one occur. We want to update you on the steps we've taken to ensure your safety when you're in our care. UPMC is scheduling more in-person appointments and procedures at our facilities every day, all in line with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. We want you and your family to know it is safe to make an appointment, schedule a procedure, and get the care you need. Our dedicated team of health care professionals has introduced extensive, system-wide measures to protect our patients, staff, and communities. We continue to offer expanded care options, such as video visits and telephone visits with both primary care providers and specialists. These options allow you to receive many types of care from the comfort of your home. Don’t Delay Emergency Care It’s especially important that you do not put off or “wait out” medical emergencies if you experience serious symptoms, such as chest pains, signs of stroke, severe headache, broken bones, or other issues that would typically send you to the emergency department. Our emergency departments and urgent care facilities are open, sanitized, and safe. Our staff members have been trained in safety measures and are well-prepared to provide you with care. It is vital that you receive care as quickly as possible to prevent a worse outcome. If you believe you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1. Fortunately, the communities UPMC serves did not experience a high volume of COVID-19 cases, crowded emergency rooms, and other concerns seen in other parts of the country. Our expert physicians and staff stand ready to deliver the exceptional care you need. Visit UPMC.com/YourCare for more information on how we continue to safely deliver Life Changing Medicine during these unprecedented times. As always, we are here for you, and we thank you for choosing and trusting UPMC. | | Leslie C.
