Winy Maas on What’s Next
Internationally renowned Dutch architect, landscape architect, professor and urbanist Winy Maas established his Rotterdam firm, MVRDV, in 1993 together with Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. In the past 25 years, the firm has innovated at every level, from experimental concepts such as Pig City to city-changing installations like Rotterdam’s Stairs to Kriterion and such transformative urban developments as Amsterdam’s Silodam. The firm is celebrated for brilliantly reimagining existing typologies – from shipping containers to barns – and inventing new ones entirely, as it did with the much-adored Markthal Rotterdam.

Maas’s lecture will focus on his vision of what’s next in architecture and urbanism.
