What's the Difference in Pannekoeken, German Pancakes, and Aebleskiver? A pannekoeken is Dutch. It rises dramatically in the oven to a giant bowl 8 to 10-inches high. They're served for breakfast with syrup but they're also loaded with fruit or veggies for lunch and dinner. They're baked in a specialty pan. That's a German pancake in the top image. It's baked in a standard baking pan where it rolls and buckles as it bakes. The batters are very similar; they're baked differently. | | | Jalapeno Corn Aebleskiver with Cheddar Centers | Aebleskiver are different yet. They're "Danish Puffed Pancakes."
