Since early adulthood, I've been gathering little sets of beautiful coupe glasses and etched crystal lowballs whenever they're on sale, assuming I'd someday have an adult-sized home where I'd throw grown-up dinner parties and serve delicious drinks from my glassware menagerie. Well, I'm 39 and still live in a 400-square-foot apartment, surrounded by about 80 glasses. And they're all extremely breakable, which I didn't realize until I recently invited my toddler nephew over to hang out on my roof.
Now that the delta variant is raging and more of us are avoiding bars (again), more of us are drinking at home, and a lot of us are drinking outside, where the wind is bound to blow and toddlers are liable to knock things over. With that in mind, I put together a guide to all the gloriously unbreakable drinkware you can collect for your al fresco get-togethers (as well as some other doo-dads that I'm very tempted to buy, like a big glass drink dispenser and color-changing straws). Cheers to being unbreakable!
