Trade With Neighbors Instead of Boarding Your Dog
My husband and I like to get away for a week-end road trip on occasion. It has become pretty pricey to leave our dog at the doggie motel (vet's boarding), so we worked out a trade with our neighbors.
Sand for Aquariums
Instead of the more expensive sands and other substrates at the fish store, go to your local hardware store. For natural sand, use play sand; for black sand, use black sandblasting sand; for white sand, use white pool filter sand.
Sock Bottle Dog Toy
My dog loves to chew on empty 20-ounce pop bottles, so I made an inexpensive variation of that. Take a 20-ounce pop bottle, drop a couple of dried beans inside, and put the cap on tightly.

Puppy Backsliding on House Training
We got our 7 month miniature Australia Shepherd at about 8 weeks. Within 2 months he seemed to be potty trained. Lately, it's like he has forgotten everything he's learned. We use the bell method and our 8 year old German Shepherd does not have accidents. He will ring the bell sometimes, but does nothing when he goes out.
