In July, I read a study that found texting with a therapist is about as effective as meeting with one on video. I was shocked. How could such a strong bond between patient and provider form over text? But as I dove into the research, I kept finding the same thing: text therapy really seems to work, which could open up new possibilities for mental-health care.
