In snow!

So much so that I totally forgot to send you my weekly email.

Therefore, it's a little late.

But better late than never!

Talking about getting buried... I've been feeling a little buried lately... under a lot of stuff.

When people say, "You've changed!", it's hardly ever a compliment.

It's almost always a criticism.

An expression of disappointment.

It often betrays the fact that they can't treat us the same way anymore.

"What Do You Want?"

I read business books. They all say one thing.

When I left the ministry I had no idea what to do.

A mentor asked, “David, what do you want?" I couldn’t answer.

I really didn’t know what I wanted. My religious devotion was so deep that I lost touch with myself and my desires. I had no idea what I wanted.

It took me a long time to figure it out... without feeling guilty.

TikTok of the Week!

"Sinner! Do As You're Told!"

Well... my TikTok is slowwwwly growing. For a few days it grew rapidly from a few thousand followers to 16,000. And then it just stopped.

I don't understand these things.

But I'm using TikTok to just chat about things that are important to me.

A lot of people seem to be resonating.

Like with this one. I talk about how the idea of Original Sin can cause us to not trust ourselves.

Which makes us perfect members.

DO YOU FEEL BURIED?

We got buried under 50 centimeters (20 inches) of snow this weekend. It was brutal!

I pushed a lot of snow this weekend. My daily workouts.

It's kind of a metaphor for me right now.

And probably for many of you.

February is usually a hard month. This one feels harder.

(And for many years Lisa and I would get away somewhere warm for a week this month or next but there's no hope of that. No sun or sand at the end of the tunnel.)

I saw where Glennon Doyle wrote a note to Adele who had to cancel an event and felt so terrible.

Basically, Glennon reminded Adele of the hard times we're going through and not to be too hard on herself. Everyone's struggling. These are extraordinary times. Many of us are trying to perform at our peak and reach our goals and continue on our accustomed paths.

But, really, it's kind of silly to expect to be able to do that.

It reminded me to be gentler with myself.

Maybe you could be kinder to yourself.
More gentle.
More gracious.
