We're seeing a change in the way we socialise.

Dubai’s cool kids have been partying differently... and that's with a caffeine buzz.

It seems that today’s Gen Z and wellness-minded millennials are gathering by daylight, fuelled by oat lattes and house beats. At Fred’s Coffee Party and No Filter DXB, DJs spin, baristas pour, and no one wakes up the next day questioning their life choices.

Sure, it’s easy to scoff. Café raves sound like something plucked from a Gen Z satire. But behind the matcha lattes and cowboy boots (can someone explain the cowboy boots?) lies a cultural shift: socialising that doesn’t come with a bar tab or the 'Sunday scaries'.

These events – mostly invite-only and fiercely Instagrammable (obviously) – have built niche communities based on connection, creativity and caffeine.

At these, you're more likely to find conversations about creative collabs, start-up ideas, or niche Spotify finds – all while sipping a honey cinnamon oat latte and dancing.

Sure, you might ask yourself if we need deep house beats with our flat whites? Not really.

But in a city known for always doing the most, these coffee parties feel almost rebellious in their simplicity.

So, do weneed to put a stop to them? Our verdict is: No.

It's a great way to have fun during the day at a party that hypes you up (with a dose of caffeine), rather than drains you.

Until then… stay hydrated besties (without any of the jitters),
