'Divine intervention' felt as teen pulls girl from pond in Livingston Parish

BY DOUG GRAHAM | Staff writer

Hunter Robertson climbed into his kayak in the early morning darkness and paddled across the pond, searching the water for the missing girl. The 16-year-old spotted a ripple, reached into the murky water, and grabbed the foot of the 4-year-old as she sank. He then managed to pull the girl onto the boat, unharmed.

"He saved my entire life," said the girl's mother, Brittany Brock. "My daughter is my life."

"I don’t know how you can spin it, but God had His hand and there were angels around her," said Hunter's mother, Sharrah Robertson said. "It was all God’s plan."

LSU women’s basketball players have had an offseason to remember, including trips backstage at a Beyonce concert to laying down a track with New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne to gracing a Sports Illustrated cover.

As returning guard Kateri Poole put it, there’s been “king cake at every stop.”

There is no map for where this LSU women’s team is. But, "now it’s time to get back,” says guard Flau’jae Johnson.
