By 15mhhm15

Free Flower Pots at Lowe's Garden Center - shelves with plastic potsSome garden centers like Home Depot or Lowe's have a rack for free pots. If they don't, you can ask if they have any free pots you can have. What's awesome is once in a while you may stumble across a nice ceramic, clay pot too!

Dove Having a Bath

By betty.reese

Dove Having a Bath - dove in a homemade bird bathWe feed all the birds year round and have many doves. They love to enjoy a bath too. That is our old water pump from years ago, just as added interest to our yard. The bath tub is a bottom of a hot water tank that we cut off. It works perfectly and is the right depth of water for birds and bees!

Red Oak Leaves - against a snowy woodsAs I looked from the kitchen window, I could see a spot of red at the edge of the woods and wondered what it was. I investigated this morning and saw that there are a few fall leaves still hanging on.

Lightweight Hanging Pots for House Plants

By Ivey

Lightweight Hanging Pots for House PlantsThis is a great tip for lightweight hanging pots for indoor plants! Pots can get really heavy when using pebbles or stones for drainage, which can be very taxing on the hooks hanging from your ceiling. Next time, try this instead, bath scrubbies.

Uses for Unwanted Artificial Christmas Trees

Artificial Christmas TreeDon't toss an unwanted artificial Christmas tree! Regardless of the reason, if it has realistic branches and will stand up, find a bare spot in your yard near a newly planted tiny tree, perhaps against a fence in the back yard.

Grow Air Plants as Houseplants
If you are like me and live in a small space where all of your shelves are constantly covered in clutter, then you know how frustrating it is to try to grow house plants. I have found the perfect solution.
Making Seed Tapes
Contrary to popular belief most seeds will germinate for several years. Now is the time to make seed tapes from those leftover seeds from this year's garden.
Add Compost In the Fall
Let Mother Nature help you with your spring planting! If you add compost to your garden beds every year like I do, you may (or may not) know that usually the bags recommend that you let the compost "mellow" before you plant into it.
Research Before Planting
I decided that this year I am going to add celery to my garden. I am glad I researched it first, because I found out I needed to start celery early. I also discovered that celery seeds that are 2-3 years old work better than younger seeds.
Bagel Bird Feeder
Don't forget our birds this winter. They need food! Spread entire bagel with lard. Place birdseed on a paper plate. Roll the bagel in the birdseed. Tie jute or string through the hole of the bagel to hang the bagel.
