Dear friend and supporter, Recent reports highlight the severe conditions faced by evacuees from the north and south, painting a grim picture of their lives seven months into the conflict. Approximately 100,000 individuals have been displaced, with many losing their homes permanently and others living under the constant threat of missiles, causing widespread stress and anxiety. These evacuees, now spread across more than 400 hotels with no clear timeline for returning home, are facing not just physical displacement but a range of worsening health and social issues. Reports show a rise in mental distress among teenagers, who are turning to alcohol to cope. Family stability is deeply affected, with increases in domestic violence and the breakdown of family units. Additionally, Holocaust survivors among them are experiencing renewed trauma from the events of October 7. At Feed Israel, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive support to evacuees, addressing both their immediate and long-term needs. Our efforts include distributing essential supplies, facilitating access to medical care, and providing mental health support. |
