A Bintel Brief: A JArts TheaterWorks stage reading Wednesday, November 11 @ 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT The JArts TheatreWorks group proudly presents a staged reading of “A Bintel Brief.” The Bintel Brief was the Forward's Yiddish advice column that started in the early 20th century — and we brought it back earlier this year. Through letters, advice, and wisdom, this column, which originally connected Jewish immigrants to their community, now asks us: “how do we stay connected despite the distances between us?” Join a premiere of these letters reimagined, followed by a Q&A with Dr. Jonathan Sarna, the Joseph H. & Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History and Director of the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University. Sign up here. | |

Past Conversations Couldn't make it to one of our virtual talks? Watch the recordings: Divided we fall: How the crises of 2020 have furthered the gaps among groups and what to do about it Watch an extraordinary conversation that brought together respected national leaders for a discussion of how antisemitism, racism and anti-Black/anti-Immigrant narratives have pervaded our national conversation during these tense pre-election days — AND what we can do about it. The 2020 election: disinformation and democracy Jodi Rudoren led an important conversation around key narratives playing out this election cycle. As we close in on the final days of the voting period - what else can we expect to see on the disinformation front, what can be done to mitigate harm and public anxiety? What can be done by platforms or by Congress to reform our laws and systems to meet this challenge? Speakers included: Molly Boigon, Investigative Reporter, the Forward; Angelo Carusone, President, Media Matters; Lisa Kaplan, Founder and CEO, The Alethea Group; Oren Segal, Vice President of the Center for Extremism, ADL. Moderated by Jodi Rudoren, Editor in Chief, The Forward. The Forward's Come As You Are gala: Comedy & cocktails in challenging times What a night!
