The week's biggest real estate stories: Chris Pratt, Chrissy Teigen, Elin Nordegren and more
| | This week's top real estate headlines In a rather odd turn of events, reality competition tycoon Simon Cowell bought, then listed his protégé Leona Lewis' Hidden Hills equestrian estate — at a loss. Cowell bought the Scandinavian-influenced home in an off-market deal for $3.9 million and currently has a $3.7 million price tag on the property. Meanwhile, over in West Hollywood, it looks like Charlize Theron is looking to slim down her massive Los Angeles real estate portfolio just a tad. The actress recently listed a modest, yet charming Spanish-style bungalow for a little under $1.9 million. In other news, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are temporarily renting a contemporary Beverly Hills mansion, actor Greg Kinnear is asking a touch under $6.6 million for his Brentwood house, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris finally sold their former marital home, Tiger Woods' ex-wife Elin Nordegren made off with a fortune in the sale of her Palm Beach residence, and Tommy Hilfiger is seeking $47.5 million for his European-inspired Connecticut estate. | A quick internet search for the city’s most historic homes led me to some online excerpts from powerhouse real estate agent Jeffrey Hyland’s seminal 2008 coffee table tome, “The Legendary Estates of Beverly Hills,” and, sure enough, the Wood residence was listed! Known as Grayhall in real life, thanks to its gray stone exterior, the massive property sits atop a small bluff north of Sunset on Carolyn Way. READ MORE |

| The good news for erstwhile “Mom” star Faris and Pratt, hunky star of the “Guardians of The Galaxy” franchise, is that the $4.75 million sale price is only about $200,000 less that the original asking price of $4.995 million and a hefty chunk over the $3.3 million they paid in 2014 for the property when they bought it from Live Nation Entertainment president and CEO Michael Rapino. | I have a serious affinity for Craftsman homes, most likely influenced by my mom’s unbridled affection for the style and my ten-plus years of living in Pasadena, where the Arts and Crafts architectural movement is widely immortalized. Whenever I see a Craftsman onscreen, my immediate inclination is to track it down. READ MORE |

| Having already acquired a substantially larger and considerably more expensive home in one of the most heavily celebrified neighborhoods in Beverly Hills, hugely successful film and television writer and producer Kevin Williamson has none-too-surprisingly heaved his swank mansion in L.A.’s historic (and historically high-toned) Hancock Park neighborhood up for sale at just under $10 million.
