When the Apollo 11 mission launched in 1969, NASA had many different cameras ready to record the Saturn V rocket's takeoff, including a special 16mm film camera that recorded 500fps footage.

Samsung announced its 200MP ISOCELL HP1 smartphone image sensor last fall. While it isn't yet in any smartphones, Samsung has shown off a real-world cat photo captured with the impressive sensor and made a giant 616 square meter print.

Fujifilm has announced the X-H2S, a high-end 26MP APS-C stills/video mirrorless camera capable of 40fps shooting, 4K/120 video and subject recognition AF built around a Stacked CMOS sensor.
